Whether she is facilitating workshops and retreats or leading strategic planning and tactical mapping processes, Dr. Michalski's passion for supporting her clients is always apparent.
Erika casually commands the room and the development experience with enthusiasm about where and how the participants can put the content to use.
She loves team dynamics and the ways that social science research can guide effective, sustainable team development. She has been known to break down barriers within groups to help dissolve dysfunctional behavior. With expertise in project management, succession planning, leadership dynamics, and general talent/professional development topics like communication and solution-oriented goal setting, it is likely she has something that can serve your team.
Erika also has a depth of knowledge about the CliftonStrengths (formerly StrengthsFinder) content, including the development of a multi-session curriculum she has facilitated for multiple academic institutions and non-profit organizations. She helps individuals effectively apply their results to their roles and scope of work; she also helps individuals in supervisory/management roles consider the results of those reporting to them when it comes to a variety of common tasks.
Erika facilitates virtual and in-person workshops and retreats for groups as small as just a few and as large as a few hundred. The length and location of each program or series of programs varies based on client need and budget. Because Erika's offerings change as she continues to learn and grow herself, please fill out the contact form for a current list of workshops.
Dr. Michalski also leads groups through strategic planning and tactical mapping strategies with humor and a practical mindset.
She recognizes that the strategic planning process can become overwhelming quickly and works to minimize pain points and stress whenever possible. She helps teams develop nimble plans intended to provide a deeper connection to the overall mission and purpose of the organization.
Her passion for creating clarity cannot be ignored, and her ability to navigate challenging personalities throughout the experience ensures the process won’t get derailed. True to her cheerleading and encouraging nature, she creates a space where stakeholders throughout the process feel engaged and supported and most importantly, invested in the end result.
Erika believe so much in the value of effective planning she also provides coaching for groups engaging in the strategic planning process when their budget does not allow for investing in a consultant to navigate the entirety of the process for them.
As a scholar of adult learning theory, Dr. Michalski aligns her work with proven methods of supporting adult learners' needs as well as enabling authenticity during programming.
To fully integrate adult learning principles, Dr. Michalski works to conduct a needs analysis for each project to ensure appropriate, meaningful gaps in knowledge or ability are being met. She also works with her point of contact to draft communication around the programming to help participants gain clarity around the short- and long-term purposes of the programming.
Erika routinely works with clients to create a curriculum mindset for programming and highlights how clients can continue integrating content from her sessions into multiple areas of the participants’ roles. This includes, among other things, assessing and revising annual review processes or quarterly team progress meetings. In some instances, this also includes adding individual support for selected participants after the group session(s) conclude.
